How it works
From one opinion
to a conversation.
DifferMind is designed so a discussion doesn't end as a pile of comments. You can see the question, hear different views, understand the conversation as it develops, and decide what you think.
Start with a question
Topics give the conversation a common point of reference. Some are structured as Debate — For or Against. Others are Open-ended.
Read before joining
Anyone can read topics, opinions and replies without signing in. The idea is simple: understand the conversation before adding to it.
Add your perspective
When you have something to say, sign in with Google and post an opinion. On a Debate, choose For or Against. On an Open-ended topic, simply share your view.
Let the conversation develop
People can reply to opinions and mark useful contributions Helpful. Different perspectives begin to build a larger picture.
Keep following the discussion
Return to read new opinions and replies, explore different perspectives and use Helpful to recognise contributions you found useful.
The two formats
Different questions need different conversations.
Debate
For / Against
A clear question with two positions. Choose a side, explain your reasoning and see why the other side thinks differently.
Open-ended
Bring your own angle
No forced sides. Share an experience, question, argument or perspective and let the conversation develop from there.
The useful part
A discussion is more than a list of comments.
DifferMind keeps the original opinions and replies together around a clear topic, so you can see different perspectives in context rather than losing them in a fast-moving feed.
When a contribution is useful to you, Helpful lets you recognise it. When something breaks the Community Rules, you can report it for review.
Identity
Your choice, every post.
Post using your Real Name or Pseudonym. Your account remains securely tied to your activity behind the scenes.
Participation
Reading stays open.
You don't need an account to understand what people are saying. Sign in when you want to participate.
Direction
Discussion can lead somewhere.
The aim is not endless arguing. Better understanding can lead to conclusions, and conclusions can lead to action.
