Plain-English summary
You are responsible for what you publish. DifferMind provides the platform, does not adopt users' opinions as its own, and may moderate content or accounts that breach these Terms or the Community Rules.
1. The service
DifferMind is a public discussion platform operated by VSR Labs. It allows visitors to read administrator-created topics and public opinions and allows authenticated users to publish opinions and replies. Some discussions are structured as Debate topics with For and Against positions; others are Open-ended.
These Terms apply to your access to and use of the website and related DifferMind features.
2. Accounts and identity
Google Login is used to authenticate accounts. You must provide accurate information during onboarding and must not impersonate another person. When posting, you may choose to display your real name or pseudonym. DifferMind still maintains the authenticated account relationship internally; choosing a pseudonym does not make an account anonymous to DifferMind.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorised access.
3. Your opinions, replies and other content
You are solely responsible for the opinions, replies, claims, statements and other content you submit. This includes responsibility for their legality, accuracy where you present something as fact, and the rights of other people affected by your content.
DifferMind does not automatically endorse, verify, adopt or guarantee the truthfulness, completeness or reliability of user-generated content. An opinion appearing on DifferMind is the responsibility of the person who published it and is not, merely because it appears on the platform, a statement by DifferMind or VSR Labs.
You retain rights you have in your content. To operate DifferMind, you grant VSR Labs a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, format, distribute and otherwise use your content as reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, moderate and improve the service. This licence does not transfer ownership of your underlying content.
You represent that you have the rights and authority needed to publish the content you submit.
4. Acceptable use
You must use DifferMind lawfully and in accordance with the Community Rules. You must not use the service to threaten or harass people, publish private information without an appropriate basis, impersonate others, scam or spam users, distribute malicious software, infringe rights, manipulate Helpful reactions or reports, evade moderation, or otherwise misuse the platform.
5. Moderation and reports
DifferMind may review reports and take reasonable action, including hiding or removing content, restricting an account, closing a topic, or dismissing a report. Moderation decisions may consider context, evidence, applicable law and the Community Rules.
We do not promise that every violation will be identified or that every report will produce a particular outcome. A report is a request for review, not a finding that the reported content is unlawful or wrong.
6. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DifferMind is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis. We do not guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, current, error-free or suitable for every purpose.
DifferMind is a discussion platform, not a fact-checking, professional-advice, emergency, medical, financial, legal or other specialist service. Do not rely on an opinion, reply, topic summary or other user-generated material as a substitute for qualified professional advice.
We may link to or display third-party material or services. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, availability or practices except to the extent applicable law requires otherwise.
7. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless VSR Labs, DifferMind and their respective officers, employees, contractors, service providers and agents from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs and reasonable legal expenses arising out of or connected with: (a) your use of DifferMind; (b) your violation of these Terms or the Community Rules; (c) your violation of applicable law or another person's rights; or (d) content you submit, including claims concerning its legality, accuracy, ownership or infringement.
This provision does not require you to indemnify a party to the extent a claim results from that party's own liability that cannot lawfully be shifted to you. VSR Labs may reasonably control the defence of a claim covered by this section, and you agree to provide reasonable cooperation.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VSR Labs and DifferMind will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or for loss of data, reputation, profits or opportunities arising from your use of the service or from user-generated content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law, including where such exclusion would be prohibited by law.
9. Account suspension and termination
You may stop using DifferMind or delete your account through the available account controls. We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, violation of these Terms, legal compliance or protection of the service and its users.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when the service, law or our operating practices change. The current version will be published on this page with its update date. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
11. Governing law and contact
These Terms are intended to be governed by applicable Indian law, subject to mandatory rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. For questions or concerns, use the Contact Us page.
